General Info

Tucked into the scenic village area of Mýto pod Ďumbierom, the experience at Reštaurácia Rojas feels welcoming from the moment you walk through the door. The space has the relaxed atmosphere you hope for when looking for a comfortable restaurant after a day exploring the surrounding mountains. The setting is casual but polished, with a small bar onsite where locals and travelers gather for drinks or a quick bite.

One of the first things that stands out is that the restaurant identifies as women-owned, which adds a thoughtful and personal touch to the overall vibe. The service feels attentive without being overbearing, and the staff clearly take pride in the menu they present. Whether you're stopping by for lunch or planning a longer meal with friends, the environment encourages you to slow down and enjoy the experience.

The menu focuses on hearty dishes that reflect traditional Slovak flavors. A highlight for many visitors is Bryndzové Halušky, the classic potato dumplings with sheep cheese that locals consider a national favorite. At Reštaurácia Rojas, the dish arrives rich, creamy, and perfectly comforting. Another popular option is Rezeň S Hranolkami, a crispy schnitzel served with fries. It’s simple, satisfying, and exactly the kind of meal that pairs well with a cold drink from the bar.

For something slightly different, Černohorský Rezeň is another standout on the menu. This variation of schnitzel has a flavorful coating that gives it a deeper, savory character. Many diners mention it in reviews, and after trying it, it’s easy to see why it’s often recommended.

Beyond the main plates, the restaurant also offers small plates, which are great if you’re in the mood to share or just want a lighter bite. This flexibility makes the place appealing for different types of visitors-from families sitting down for a full meal to travelers popping in for a quick lunch.

Practical details also make the visit smooth. The restaurant provides Wi-Fi, which is useful for travelers planning their next stop or checking maps of nearby locations. The bar area adds another layer of comfort, offering a relaxed spot to unwind with a drink while enjoying the lively yet friendly atmosphere.

Overall, the combination of comforting food, welcoming service, and thoughtful amenities makes the dining experience here feel genuine. “ Food was great and the service was nice. Highly recommend. ”

“ Great place, very tasty food - Deduskova misa is a good choice for 2 or even 3 people :) thank you! ”

“ A restaurant featuring Slovak cuisine placed at the side of the forest road that crosses the lower Tatras toward High Tatras. I stopped randomly here to get a quick lunch before continuing my road trip. There is a dedicated parking lot under the restaurant with several limited spots, and you have to climb few stairs to get to the restaurant and a hotel. You can sit outside on the terraced garden overlooking the road or hide inside. The menu has enough options, but what immediately captured my attention was a fresh trout roasted on butter. But the portion could be a bit bigger. The fish was crispy, tender and delicious, potatoes well spiced. The service was attentive, kind and reasonably quick. However, when paying, I noticed the pricing of the trout in the menu was per 100 grams, not for the entire fish, which made this meal quite overpriced. What a pity. So, even though I would return, I would very likely try something else. ”

“ This place serve amazing food. It’s a little but hidden and people easily just go around with their cars without a stop, which is great for us. We were there for the third time, the restaurants was aqain quite empty, but we see it as a benefit, because you do not need to wait too long for your meal. Service is very friendly, traditional food was very tasty. ”

“ I eat here every time I visit Chopok-Jasna for skiing. Very authentic local cuisine, the best bryndzove Halusky (slovakian special goat cheese dumplings with fried bacon bits) I have ever tried and also many other outstanding dishes of homemade quality. Perfect cold draft beers and other drinks and also superb deserts, the palacynki with cottage cheese creme is the best and enough for two or three. Staff speaks fluent english and exceptionally friendly and professional. There is really no alternative with similar quality and value from all perspectives. ”

“ Though the place is small, the food is incredibly tasty, the staff is kind, and the portions are generous. ”

“ I had the pleasure of dining at this Slovak restaurant, and the experience was absolutely delightful! I enjoyed a comforting garlic soup, crispy fries topped with rich bryndza cheese and garlic sauce, and for dessert, delicious pancakes with walnuts, honey, and whipped cream. Every bite was full of authentic flavors, making for a truly satisfying meal. ”
